Charleston-based marine services built on 20+ years of hands-on experience.
With more than 20 years of hands-on marine experience, Sean Carroll founded SC Yachting to serve the sailors and cruising yacht owners of Charleston and the Lowcountry who need a professional they can trust — someone who treats their vessel the way they do.
SC Yachting provides professional rigging, marine electrical, solar, and vessel care services for sailboats and cruising yachts in South Carolina. Work includes standing rigging replacement and inspection, in-boom furling system installation, mast tuning, lithium battery and solar system design, and long-term vessel monitoring through the Watch & Watch program.
Every vessel SC Yachting works on is evaluated individually. Configuration, load paths, electrical demand, and operating conditions determine which systems are specified and how they are installed. SC Yachting does not apply generic replacement schedules or off-the-shelf solutions to complex marine systems.
Marine systems that are improperly installed, incorrectly specified, or improperly maintained fail at sea. The consequences range from a ruined passage to a genuine safety emergency. SC Yachting treats every project with that understanding.
Before any work begins, SC Yachting evaluates the vessel and provides a clear scope of what needs to be done and why. There are no surprise scope changes. There are no generic solutions applied to complex problems. What SC Yachting recommends is what the vessel requires given its actual configuration, load paths, and operating profile.
The objective is simple: marine systems that function correctly, safely, and consistently over time -- whether offshore or at the dock.
Trusted Partners & Manufacturers
SC Yachting works with established marine manufacturers -- Selden for spars and rigging hardware, Blue Wave for wire and terminals, Leisure Furl for in-boom furling systems, and Victron Energy for battery management and solar charging. These partnerships provide access to technical support, correct component specification, and long-term parts availability.
