What Is Watch & Watch?

Watch & Watch is SC Yachting's routine vessel maintenance and monitoring program for sailboat owners who want their vessel properly maintained and ready to sail without needing to manage it themselves between outings.

Deferred maintenance on a sailboat is always more expensive than early detection. A chafed halyard that gets caught at the right time is a $40 fix. The same halyard discovered after it parts is a rigging emergency. Watch & Watch puts professional eyes on your vessel on a regular schedule so small issues are identified and addressed before they become larger ones.

What's Included

Every Watch & Watch visit includes:

  • Scheduled exterior washdowns -- removes salt, biological growth, and environmental debris
  • Visual inspection of standing and running rigging, deck hardware, and onboard systems
  • Line, fender, and safety equipment checks
  • Storm track and weather monitoring with vessel check-ins before and after significant weather events
  • Battery state-of-charge and shore power system checks
  • Issue notification -- you're alerted immediately if any irregularities, damage, or developing problems are detected

Visit reports are provided so owners have a record of what was found, what was done, and what items require attention.

Who Watch & Watch Is For

Watch & Watch is designed for boat owners who:

  • Travel frequently and are away from Charleston for extended periods
  • Live off the vessel seasonally and want regular eyes on the boat when not aboard
  • Race or sail seasonally and want the vessel properly maintained between active seasons
  • Simply want a professional monitoring their investment on a regular schedule and alerting them to issues as they develop

Your vessel represents a significant investment. The cost of regular professional monitoring is a fraction of the cost of catching a problem after it has developed into structural damage, a failed battery bank, or a compromised rig.
